        Paradise/Tahquamenon Falls

 

Brimley State Park
9200 West 6 Mile Road, Brimley, MI 49715; (906) 248-3422. The park features a 270-site modern campground with large, grassy campsites as well as a mini-cabin and a swimming beach on Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay. Brimley has the warmest swimming water of any state park located on the usually frigid Lake Superior. Anglers fish the bay for northern pike and walleye. A scenic view of the Canadian highlands can be seen to the north. Take 6 Mile Road one mile east of Brimley.
Andrus Lake Campground
Camping is available nearby. Andrus Lake, a state forest campground 6 miles north of Paradise, has 25 rustic wooded sites. Andrus Lake offers fishing, boating and swimming. Shelldrake dam camping area is just 2 miles from Andrus Lake. Shelldrake has 17 wooded campsites, boating, good pike fishing and some rare and unusual birds. (906) 492-3219

  Tahquamenon Falls Lower Falls Campground
2 modern campgrounds with 90 sites each. These modern sites are equipped with electricity, a fire pit, table, hot showers and flush toilets. There is a picnic area and shelter, playground, and concession stand. Sanitation Stations are available at the Lower Falls and Rivermouth Unit. Firewood is limited in the park so you might want to pick some up at one of the camp stores or gas stations. The campground at the Lower Falls is open year round. There is no campground at the Upper Falls .Phone: 906-492-3560.
Tahquamenon Falls Rivermouth Unit has 136 modern and rustic campsites along the Tahquamenon River with a boat launch. The rustic campsites have no electricity, but they do have a fire pit and a picnic table. You may take showers at the Modern Unit for a small fee. This campground is a little more secluded. Good fishing opportunities along the riverbank and you can walk over to Whitefish Bay on Lake Superior and walk along the sandy beach.Phone: 906-492-3560.
