Chippewa
Hotel Website: www.chippewahotel.com Phone: 1-800-241-3341 The Chippewa Hotel has been newly renovated, but don¹t worry, it hasn't lost any of its charm. One might still imagine it's 1902 with a few additional amenities. Many rooms have a balcony overlooking the water where you can watch the sailboats, yachts and ferry boats come and go during the day and catch a sunset in the evening. You can walk down the stairs and eat in the Harbor View Room - nothing beats the french toast and coffee while watching the Island wake up. And, of course, the landmark Pink Pony is still the place to end the evening with a cocktail, entertainment, and the rest of the people on the island who seem to wander in eventually. P.O. Grand
Hotel Website: http://www.grandhotel.com/hotel.html Phone: 1-800-33-GRAND The Grand Hotel is situated on top of a hill overlooking most of Mackinac Island. From the veranda look down at their well kept gardens, enjoy the ambiance of "somewhere in time". You can see why hollywood has chosen to come here more than once ... the Victorian elegance has been kept intact, while offering the guest a stay of comfort. The main restaurant in the Grand Hotel offers gourmet cuisine, and perhaps a peek at someone "vaguely familiar" at the next table. If you'd like to walk across the road to another of their restaurants, you'll find that The Grand Stand, on the edge of their golf course offers an intimacy and menu that you will also enjoy. Be sure to make reservations because it only seats 34! There is no doubt about it, your stay at the Grand Hotel will be simply fabulous. |

Iroquois Website: http://www.mackinacisland.net/iroquois Phone: 906-847-3321 The Hotel Iroquois is located on the water's edge, with a stunning view of the Straits of Mackinac, where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron meet. There is no bad view . . . whether you are facing the water, the garden or panoramic street, it is all delightful. The Hotel Iroquois is located at the end of the main street, close enough to all of the action to be convenient, but with its "end of the block" location it is set apart enough to have that private feeling. The charm of another era is reflected in every room, with attention to comfort. Last, but certainly not least as noted in Gourmet magazine, is the dining to be found in the Carriage House restaurant. Personally, our favorite is the hot fudge ice cream puff dessert - save room for this! P.O. Box 456, Mackinac Island, MI 49757 |
Inn
On Mackinac Phone: 1-800-4-MACKINAC The Inn on Mackinac is a delightful Bed & Breakfast that you can't miss, its colorful green and lilac and its sidewalk patio are delightful. Set apart from the primary bustle of Main Street it is a short walk from the hub. Its location gives you the sense that you are part of the neighborhood. Its Victorian motif is evident just looking at the building, while the veranda simply oozes quaint charm. |
Lake
View Hotel Website: http://www.mackinacisland.net/lakeview Phone: 906-847-3384 A lot of people will mention the wide white porch while others will tell you first about the swimming pool in the center of the hotel that is enclosed within a four-story atrium. We like that this hotel is directly across from the ferry docks, and in the midst of the bustling activity of Main Street, so that when one does enjoy the view from the porch they can feel a part of it all. First built in 1858 and most recently updated in 1993 the rooms reflect the charm of another time. The Pilot House restaurant serves your every dining need, with a breakfast buffet that will knock your socks off! P.O. Box 190, Mackinac Island, MI 49757 |

Mission
Point Resort Website:http://www.mackinacisland.net/missionpoint Phone: 1-800-833-7711 Walk through town, pass the harbor, and at the edge of town you will catch your breath as the elegance of Mission Point Resort greets you. Situated on top of a small hill the imposing resort looks across a wide expanse of lawn with rows on white Adirondack chairs. You can imagine the inhabitants of those chairs gazing out at the blue waters, reading their favorite book or simply watching the croquet match to their right. A charming gazebo also offers a sanctuary as does the gigantic hammock located on the lawn. The beautiful rooms and gourmet restaurant gives its inhabitants all that they need. The pool, health club, tennis courts, kids activity center, and mountain and bike rentals add to the wish list. Some say that Mission Point Resort has some ghosts, but nothing to be frightened of, simply whispers of an era of elegance gone by, an elegance you can enjoy in the present. |
