Trip # 116
Marquette Harbors Cruises

The Marquette Harbor Cruises are conducted by Uncle Ducky Charters and are private charters not public tours. This means your group (up to 6 people) are the only ones on the boat.

Two Trips are available. The Marquette Harbor Cruise takes about 2 hours and is great, as is the Granite Island and Granot Loma Cruise, for just taking your lunch or dinner along a bottle of wine, or lunch for the kids and enjoying the scenery along this beautiful and historical lakeshore.

On the Marquette Harbor Cruise you’ll see the Pocket Iron Ore Docks, probably an ore boat loading or off loading, The Marquette Harbor Lighthouse, beautiful Presque Isle, Middle Island, Middle Island Point, Partridge island, usually some eagles and other birds,
and learn some history of the area.

On the Granite Island/Granot Loma Cruise you will see all of the above from the Harbor Cruise plus a trip to Granite Island which is a private light station island about 8 miles off shore. It is home to a variety of sea birds and has a lighthouse that was built in 1868 and still stands today. From Granite Island we will proceed shoreward on a westerly heading to the Granot Loma Lodge. Now a private residence but was built by Louis Kauffman who was a Marquette Banker and was the Principal Financier of the Empire State Building., At one time it was and maybe still is the Largest Log Home in the world. 13 fireplaces, its own harbor, boat houses under the lodge, and unbelievable great room, and the interior is all done in Native American Décor. Although a private summer home it is available for rental. For this cruise you should allow about 3.5 hours.

Value Cost: Marquette Harbors Cruise- $250
Granite Island/Granot Loam Cruise- $375
